I will appreciate your help to upload an extracted APK of Android Auto from the firmware.
I just updated the CD (I couldn't wait any longer;)) unfortunately, when I try to connect the CD to the car, the screen goes black and the CD restarts and the car displays the information that the connection has been interrupted (Leon 5F), so it still does not work hehe
Although my CD updated without an issue, It still does not work correctly because Google Play Services are still out of date and cannot be updated...
I can also confirm that works as expected.
Thank you SD support for the update:)
I had to do factory reset for the update to take place.
Also noted that when trying to run android auto app, it actually managed to update Google play which then allowed me to install the rest of the apps.
@bosaad, I am not sure how to extract the apk as I do not have root access. Any idea how to extract it?
hmm then what else can I do? since the update was successful and the CD works under mirroid, but when connecting to the car infotainment it restarts 🙁
No need for root, you can use Apk Extractor by meher from google play or apkmirror
With the update the certificate problem seems to have gone but i am facing a new one.
Before the update, Head Unit of the car would remain connected on the Phone Bluetooth and i was able to perform calls through the Head Unit.
With the update, the Head Unit disconnects saying you are trying to run Android Auto so it will disconnect the phone as it will be connected over android auto.
However, the calls are not going through CD as the phone connects only for Audio, not for calls.
As a result its not possible to answer/listen to a call when CD is connected 🙁
I will check the forum to see if there is any relevant thread.
I left the CD connected to my laptop for longer and it started working in the car. however, I have a problem like the colleague above. connecting the CD to the car blocks the connection of the phone via bluetooth, so I cannot use the built-in hands-free kit in the car. previously it worked perfectly
I created a new thread for the above problem as it makes my CD really difficult to be used in the car now (no hands-free possibility).
We will have a new firmware update within a week or so.
Thanks!
Hello,
Please try upgrade your firmware by download it here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1fCqfdxCDkH4EOhfUJLuohgOPC0nvVoY5?usp=sharing
(Version 2.2.06, Jan 20)
Please refer to the CarDongle upgrade method tutoriaL>
Video Tutorial: https://youtu.be/DR7PV5HNSyw
After upgrading, if your stereo still cannot read Cardongle, then please plug the Cardongle into your computer's USB port until the color changes like in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21b1P_gWYc8&t=10s
The full upgrade process video is here:

After upgrade is complete, then try re-inserting CarDongle into your car stereo.
Hopefully, this gets your Cardongle unit working again!
Thanks!
NOTE: if you can connect to CarDongle, then you should now be able to do the OTA update (no need to use steps above to upgrade). Don't upgrade if your unit is working properly already.
